The Story
I love live albums. Love them. Up towards the top of the list is John Mayer’s “Live in LA”. That night’s arrangement for “Gravity” is one of my favorites. Wanting a means to practice the guitar parts and play the song in a solo act, I set out to recreate a high quality backing track in step with the version that I love so much. This track follows that night’s arrangement, minus the “I’ve Got Dreams to Remember” intro. Enjoy!

Is this a jam track or a backing track?
I consider a jam track to be just that, a track to jam over. They are usually extended in length with original arrangements. I produce them to practice technique, chops, or improvisation. I consider backing tracks to be covers of fully arranged songs to which you can add the lead parts, either vocal or instrumental. This is a backing track.
