The Story

Gary Clark Jr. proves that guitar driven songs are still a thing of the present. His live versions of this track are a great chance to see him let loose a bit. Wanting to do a similar, albeit shorter, version without the vocals, I worked up this backing track to play over. Drums and bass are taking the reins for the first half, so you can work the song as a power trio. Then, as things build for the longer closing solo, a pair of rhythm guitars come in panned left and right. Enjoy!

I consider a jam track to be just that, a track to jam over. They are usually extended in length with original arrangements. I produce them to practice technique, chops, or improvisation. I consider backing tracks to be covers of fully arranged songs to which you can add the lead parts, either vocal or instrumental. This is a backing track.
